David Kim serves as Partner & Managing Director of Asset Management at Vince International Properties, Inc. (VIP), bringing more than 25 years of global experience across institutional finance, real estate, capital markets, project finance, and multi‑asset portfolio management. He leads VIP’s asset management platform, investment governance, underwriting standards, risk management, capital markets strategy, and research direction with institutional‑grade rigor.
David’s career spans both U.S. and international markets, with expertise in corporate finance, project finance, venture consulting, mergers and acquisitions advisory, and alternative investments. He has advised government agencies, public and private corporations, start‑ups, and SMBs across financial services, technology, media, industrial, energy, defense, and real estate sectors. His global project finance work includes assignments financed by FMS, Exim Bank, and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (World Bank).
He previously served more than seven years as a trustee of a major U.S. public pension fund overseeing a globally diversified investment portfolio of approximately US$14 billion. During his tenure, he chaired the International & Fixed Income Committee and served on the Real Estate Committee, providing oversight for portfolios of up to US$4 billion and US$800 million respectively. He helped establish the fund’s first Alternative Investments program—growing it from inception to more than US$700 million—and played a key role in launching its Emerging Markets allocation and broad‑style Fixed Income strategy.
David has held leadership and membership roles across major financial institutions and exchanges, including serving as Treasurer of the Los Angeles Cable Television Access Corporation, an IOM member of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, and an Associate Member of the Chicago Board of Trade. His past professional certifications include SEC Registered Investment Advisor, CFTC‑registered market maker, California Real Estate Broker, and California General Contractor.
He has been a member of the Council of Institutional Investors, the International Foundation of Employee Benefits, and the International Advisory Board of a US$500 million pan‑Asian investment fund. He has also represented the U.S. pension fund community as a delegate to the Pensions 2000 Conference in Asia and the 1997 Cal Pacific Rim Investment Summit in Southeast Asia at the invitation of the California State Treasurer.
David holds an MBA from Pepperdine University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from UCLA.
